Social Engineering & Cyber Attacks

Social Engineering

Definition – a non-technical method of intrusion hackers use that relies heavily on human interaction and often involves tricking people into breaking normal security procedures – it’s one of the greatest threats that organizations face today – classic examples

“Social engineering” skills are highly developed and are specifically focused on the current attack; they know who is in or out of the office, they have “cloned” email addresses purporting to originate from the target company (often very senior people who are “out of the office”), they have re-constructed websites to lead you to, they are VERY CLEVER and VERY BELIEVABLE
